Explore Ayurvedic physiology and psychology as it relates to women’s health through every stage of life. This course will cover the doshic changes across the menstrual cycle, fertility, perimenopause, menopause, and post-menopause. Students will learn practical yoga and Ayurvedic interventions including self-care rituals, lifestyle strategies, and therapeutic sequencing to support hormonal balance, digestion, sleep, and emotional well-being.

Understand

How to assess a woman’s current physical and energetic state using both yogic and Ayurvedic frameworks. (1.3.1.1, 1.3.1.2)

Doshic patterns in the menstrual cycle, fertility, menopause, and post-menopause. (1.3.2.1)

How to prioritize a woman’s presenting needs based on stage of life, vikriti, and constitution. (1.3.1.3, 1.3.1.4)

Explain

Ayurvedic understanding of female reproductive anatomy and hormones. (2.1.1)

The reasoning behind specific yoga and lifestyle protocols for hormonal health. (1.3.1.5, 1.3.1.6)

How emotional and mental health symptoms during transitions are linked to doshic imbalance and samskaric patterns. (1.3.2.2)

Describe

Ayurvedic interventions such as abhyanga, basti, nasya, dietary recommendations, and pranayama to address PMS, infertility, hot flashes, dryness, mood swings, and fatigue. (1.3.2.2, 1.3.1.8)

Safe and appropriate yoga sequencing for each phase of the menstrual cycle, postpartum period, and menopause. (1.3.1.11, 1.3.1.12)

Define

Ayurvedic terminology relevant to women’s health (e.g., artava dhatu, srotas, rajahkala, rasayana). (1.3.2.1)

The difference between prakriti and vikriti and how it applies to women’s hormonal health. (1.3.2.1)
