Classes and Benefits

Pranayoga, fort wayne's first vinyasa style studio,  offers both technique classes for those wanting to learn more detailed poses and yoga philosophy, and experiential classes where students can come as they are to practice and let go of the stress of the day. We also offer specialty classes such as Kids Yoga, Prenatal, and Yoga Therapy for people with cancer and chronic illness. Yoga aids in strengthening the body, improving flexibility, developing balance, improving circulation, and reducing stress. Our teachers create a nurturing environment and meet you where you are each day. Yoga practice is the perfect exercise to compliment anything you are already doing, enhance performance, prevent against injury, and even heal and realign the body. The more consistently you practice the more benefits you will achieve.

Practice 1-2 x per week

Benefits: reduction in stress, increased flexibility, more energy, posture, improved circulation, and better sleep.

Practice 3-4 x per week

Benefits: reduction in stress, increased flexibility and strength, more energy, posture, improved circulation, better sleep, stronger immune system, healthy skin, improved breathing, mood, attention, concentration and memory, and increased sense of vitality and well-being.

Practice 5 or more x per week 
Benefits: reduction in stress, increased flexibility, strength and endurance, more energy, posture, improved circulation, better sleep, stronger immune system, healthy skin, improved breathing, mood, attention, concentration and memory, reversing lordosis and kyphosis that have occurred from poor postural alignment, increased clarity and stability, vitality and inner awareness and overall sense of well-being.

Kids Yoga 
Benefits: develops body awareness, strength, flexibility, balance, coordination and skill, strengthens immune system, stimulates imagination and creativity, builds self esteem and confidence, increases focus and attention, releases stress, teaches us to respect one's self.

Prenatal Yoga
Benefits: Improves sleep, reduces stress and anxiety, increases strength, flexibility and endurance of muscles needed for childbirth. Decreases lower back pain, nausea, carpal tunnel syndrome, headaches and shortness of breath, decreases the risk of preterm labor, pregnancy-induced hypertension, and most importantly can help you bond with your baby, and empower you through the community of other pregnant woman.
