Chris McGuire
Certified Thai Bodywork Therapist
Christopher James McGuire was born in Fort Wayne, IN, and was introduced to Yoga in the mid 90's by his then girlfriend, Danielle Byrne. Over a fifteen year period, a mild interest in yoga evolved into a passion spurred by the life-changing truths in the ancient yogic texts, and his girlfriend evolved into his wife and guru, Vani. Attending several Thai Yoga Massage workshops facilitated by Simon Park, Chris was moved by the healing properites, dynamic movement, energetic exchange, and reverence in this ancient healing modality, and decided to investigate further. Simon directed Chris to his teacher, Saul David Raye. Traveling to Joshua Tree, California, Chris studied with Saul and recieved his Thai Yoga Massage certification at the Joshua Tree Retreat Center. Chris views the human body as a means by which the soul experiences life, unveiling the forgotten truths, and serves fellow mankind while sharing our time here on earth. To release energetic blockages in the body, as well physical discomfort, is to enable a person to more fully experience the joy and beauty of life and more fully serve their dharma (life's purpose).

60.00/hour
This is the most time honored classic that many people associate with the art of massage. Your therapist combines long connective strokes, kneading and localized circular movements to ease the mind and body, promoting well-being and achieving deep relaxation.
60.00/hour
Therapeutic massage involves the manipulation of the soft tissue structures of the body to prevent and alleviate pain, discomfort, muscle spasm, and stress; and, to promote health and wellness. If you experience chronic muscle tension, spasms or overuse due to stress, work or athletic activities, this customized massage integrates a variety of techniques which may include deep pressure, trigger-point therapy, compressions and/or stretching to provide relief and reduce discomfort.
65.00/hour
This therapeutic massage concentrates on breaking up scar tissue and lactic acid build-up in the muscles and promoting soft tissue healing. Your therapist will chose the correct technique to match the physiological needs of the tissue, progressing slowly into deeper layers of tissue to relieve chronic patterns of tension. Deep tissue massage releases chronic patterns of tension in the body through long slow strokes and deep finger pressure on tensed areas. It improves body alignment and freedom of movement, and deeply addresses tight muscle groups without going past the point of resistance. For athletes it is highly beneficial for physical and mental stress reduction, athletic peak performance, sculpting and overall toning.
65.00/hour
This relaxing massage nurtures both the mother and child, while easing discomforts associated with pregnancy such as pressure, swelling, and an aching back. Extra care and attention are given to your comfort, and stage of pregnancy. Please let us know the number of weeks of your pregnancy when scheduling.
90.00/90 minute session
The healing power of stones is legendary. Your therapist uses smooth, warm stones to release tight muscles and energy pathways through a blend of gentle pressure and traditional massage. Stone massage involves the application of water-heated basalt stones of varying sizes to key points on the body, giving a deep massage and creating sensations of comfort and warmth. The direct heat relaxes muscles, allowing manipulation of a greater intensity than with regular massage. Hot Stone massage leaves you feeling deeply relaxed, allowing you to let go of all the stress that is held within your body.
In cases of muscular injury and inflammation, frozen, cooling marble stones are used. It is quite an experience to feel the deeply relaxing, penetrating heat from the basalt stones alternating with the toning and refreshing coolness of the marble stones. The use of extremes of temperature has long been scientifically and medically proven to be of benefit to the body.
